Stunning and slightly iridescent rare Forester butterfly, Euphaedra aureola from Cameroon, presented in a handmade 5.5"x5.5" wood frame. Professionally mounted on black paper. Wingspan measures 2.7 inches across. I am very moved by the sure beauty of Euphaedra butterflies and collect them personally. You may notice that I have quite a few of them available here on Etsy. I find them so fascinating and unique. This one is really nice and rarely if ever offered framed. They are very expensive for me to source, but I find working with them very satisfying so I will continue to offer a few here and there for as long as I have a shop. I have 100's of varieties of Euphaedra that I have not listed so please feel free to message me if you would like something that you don't see available at the moment. You will receive the same exact perfect specimen shown in the photos. Curious Kingdom has been lovingly crafting our handmade insect frames for over a decade. All of our insect frames are handmade from painted birch wood in New Orleans, Louisiana. I personally prepare each insect one at a time and put everything together here at my Bug Studio in Silver City, NM. All frames come with 99% UV protective glass so you don't have to worry about your investment ever fading. (Although it is a good idea to still keep out of direct sunlight.)
