Real Asian Giant Hornet, Vespa mandarinia japonica from Japan, presented in a handmade 5.5"x5.5" wood frame. Professionally mounted on black paper. This is a massive Queen! 2.85 inch wingspan, 1.95 inches from mandibles to the tip of the stinger! Pristine. These are so arresting and incredible, I have been trying to find them for a very long time and I am so happy to finally be able to present a few! You will receive the exact same specimen shown in the photos. This is one of the largest species of hornets on earth! Curious Kingdom has been lovingly crafting our handmade insect frames for over a decade. We have provided these natural displays for nature enthusiasts, museums, and television and film sets. Most of our insects are ethically sourced from farming operations located throughout the world. All of our insect frames are handmade from painted birch wood in the USA. I personally prepare each insect one at a time and put everything together here at my Bug Studio in Silver City, NM. All frames come with 99% UV protective glass so you don't have to worry about your investment ever fading. (Although it is a good idea to still keep out of direct sunlight.)
