Stunning iridescent blue Hairstreak butterfly, Arhopala araxes from Indonesia, presented in a handmade 5"x5" wood frame. It was really hard for me to photograph this beauty because the color is so metallic. There is a gradation going from the top to the bottom which starts out light blue, turns darker, and finally at the top the color is actually purple. You will receive the exact same framed butterfly shown in the pictures. Wingspan measures 2 inches. Curious Kingdom has been lovingly crafting our handmade insect frames for over a decade. We have provided these natural displays for nature enthusiasts, museums, and television and film sets. Most of our insects are ethically sourced from farming operations located throughout the world. All of our insect frames are handmade from painted birch wood in the USA. I personally prepare each insect one at a time and put everything together here at my Bug Studio in Silver City, NM. All frames come with 99% UV protective glass so you don't have to worry about your investment ever fading. (Although it is a good idea to still keep out of direct sunlight.)
