Stunning iridescent deep purple hairstreak butterfly from Indonesia, presented in a handmade 5"x5" wood frame. It was really hard for me to photograph this beauty because the color is deep but metallic and right on the line between purple and blue. One of the worlds largest hairstreak butterflies, it truly is stunning with a large 2.35 inch wingspan. You will receive the exact same framed butterfly shown in the pictures. This species is notoriously difficult to obtain in 100% perfect condition, but this one is very close :) Curious Kingdom has been lovingly crafting and providing our insect frames for over a decade to nature enthusiasts, museums, and television and film sets. Most of our insects are sourced from farming operations located throughout the world. All of our insect frames are handmade from painted birch wood in the USA. I personally prepare each insect one at a time and put everything together here at my Bug Studio in Silver City, NM. All frames come with 99% UV protective glass so you don't have to worry about your investment ever fading. (Although it is a good idea to still keep out of direct sunlight.)
